Michael J. Bollegar

BELLEVUE ~ Michael J. Bollegar, 64 of Bellevue, passed away at 9:54 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria.

Born March 15, 1953 in Pekin to William and Stella (Burch) Bollegar, he married Alice Morris in February of 1979 in Manito.

Surviving are two sons, Will (Naomi) Bollegar of Bellevue and Joshua (Katie) Bollegar of Forest City; two daughters, Vanessa Bollegar Lane of Havana and Elaina (John) Givens of Kingman, Arizona; five grandchildren; one sister, Brenda Stone of Galesburg and one nephew, Trent Bollegar.

His parents preceded him in death.

Michael was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He worked for Pekin Hardwood for 20 years and then worked as an independent lumber inspector until retiring in 2007.

Michael loved fishing, listening to music, riding his Harley, and playing his guitar.  He also enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales.

He was of the Mormon faith.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Bishop Clinton J. Pincock will preside over the service.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, with military rites provided by the United States Army and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
