Cynthia A. "Cindy" Maloney

Cynthia A. "Cindy" Maloney, 59, of Pekin, passed away at 8:49 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Born March 8, 1953 in Peoria to Robert E. and Marilyn A. (Cakora) Bradley, she married Michael J. Maloney on June 5, 1982 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are her father of Pekin; one daughter, Melissa L. (Orville “Billy”) Vestal of East Peoria; two granddaughters, Charlotte Rose Vestal and Lillian Eliza Vestal; one brother, Robert Bradley of Denver, CO; three sisters, Kathy (Steve) Lawton of Corvallis, OR, Rebecca (Sean) Bean of Venice, FL and Laurie (Derek) Nabity of Phoenix, AZ. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Jill Schwalm of Canton. She was preceded in death by her mother.

A 1971 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Cindy was a graduate of Patricia Stevens College in St. Louis.

Cindy worked for Gordon, Stockman & Waugh, P.C. in Peoria as a secretary from 1995, last working in April 15, 2011. She was a member of Women of the Moose Chapter 673 and the Roy L. King Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1232 Ladies Auxiliary, both in Pekin. She was a former Girl Scout leader and enjoyed making crafts and flower gardening. Cindy also was a longtime volunteer for March of Dimes

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.

Her memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
