Don Carlos Seckman

WASHINGTON ~ Don Carlos Seckman, 69, of Washington, Illinois, passed away at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born April 23, 1953 in Rushville, Illinois to Donald and Verna (Frost) Seckman. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Michael David Seckman, and wife, Stephanie Noel Seckman.

Surviving are two daughters, Melissa (Steve) Swingle of Green Valley, Illinois and Meredith (Greg) Albus of St. Louis, Missouri; two sons, Matthew Seckman of Nashville, Tennessee and Elliott Seckman of Washington, Illinois; five grandchildren, Miranda, Alexia, Michael, Jase and Lainey; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Christa Keran of Phoenix, Arizona and Tracey (Matt) Carls of Edinburg, Illinois and one brother, Shane Seckman of Tovey, Illinois.

Don worked at Federal Allied Van Lines for 31 years, retiring in 2006 as lead driver. He then worked at OSF Saint Francis for 15 years in maintenance, as a supply chain truck driver, and as a courier.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, his girlfriend, Laurie Holman, telling very detailed stories, taking naps and of course baseball.

Don formerly attended and pastored at Abundant Life Full Gospel Church in Manito, Illinois.

His celebration of life will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2023 at Washington Middle School in Washington, Illinois. Service will be held at 6 p.m. with a dessert reception to follow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
