Eric Renner
February 22, 1953 - September 30, 2022


Eric Ivan Renner returned to the Lord who gifted us with his presence September 30, 2022 following a prolonged illness. He passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Born February 22, 1953 in Pekin Illinois to Clovis Ivan and Alice Renner, he married Teri Lee Allen on September 27, 1972. Eric was a member of Heber Springs (Arkansas) First Assembly of God.

Eric was a person who enjoyed adventure and helping others. He was a professional firefighter in Pekin, Illinois and also served for years on the Tumbling Shoals - Ida Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter, first responder and EMT. He followed in his father’s footsteps and operated a plumbing business in Heber Springs for many years. He was also a Licensed Practical Nurse and frequently worked in the traveling nurse program. He was a member of the FEMA Disaster Medical Assistance Team program under the Department of Homeland Security and worked numerous incidents including the 9/11 Twin Trade Towers, Hurricanes Katrina, Charlie, Frances, Ivan, Jeanne and many others. As a member of the men’s group at First Assembly, he went on mission trips to Caracas, Venezuela and Mexico. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his wife and grandkids, building street rods and riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his wife Teri; children, Angel Dawn Waggoner (Stephen) and Isaac Allen Renner (Inez); grandchildren, Tyler Renner, Zachariah Waggoner, Lilleann Waggoner, and Benjamin Waggoner; and sisters Janet Reed (Dennis) and Karen Goloff. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Alice Renner; his sister, Carol Ann Renner; and brother-in-law, Charles Nicholas Goloff.

There will be a service of remembrance at Heber Springs First Assembly of God in Heber Springs, Rev. Lee Brown officiating on Monday, October 3rd at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Assembly of God Mission Fund (MAPS).
