Jan Ellen (Mathis) Randleman
April 23, 1953 - February 25, 2019
Jan Ellen Randleman, 65, of Pekin, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born April 23, 1953 in Peoria to Charles Russell and Lois Margaret (Sisk) Mathis, she married Charles Edgar Randleman, Jr. on June 8, 1971 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Sean Randleman of Washington; one daughter, Charissa (Kris) Hilst of Pekin; eight grandchildren, Hailey, Kristopher, Dakota, Aidan, Devon, Gabriel, Sofie, and Sybil; two brothers, Scott Mathis of Pekin and Kim (Becky) Mathis of Iowa; and one sister, Amy Mathis of Pekin. She also leaves behind her puppy, Beegzee, who she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Mathis.
Jan worked for the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services in Pekin and last in Peoria, retiring in 2016 after 27 years of service. Previously, she had worked at Caterpillar, Inc., at the Peoria County Courthouse, and for Attorney Brian Addy.
She enjoyed boating, camping, and playing pool. Jan played in many pool leagues. Jan will be remembered for her kindness, being caring, compassionate, her contagious smile, and always going the extra mile on any task completed. She was the model of kindness to all people.
Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rick Liggin will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
