Larry Black

PEKIN - Larry D. Black, 55, of Pekin, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at his residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Woolsey Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Michael Forbis will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts Troop 62 or to River of Life Church in Pekin.

He was born Jan. 14, 1952, in Pekin to Robert and Betty Adams Black. His parents preceded him in death. His son, Shawn Black, also died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at their residence.

Surviving are one daughter, Stephanie Black of Ottumwa, Iowa; one half brother, Jessie Hurlbert; and one half sister, Lori Black.

Black worked in the housekeeping department at Pekin Hospital for 33 years, last working Wednesday.

He was active with Boy Scouts Troop 62, and was a member of River of Life Church in Pekin.
