PEKIN ~ Mark A. Brown, 61 of Pekin, passed away at 8:58 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Unity Point Health-Methodist in Peoria.

Born May 30, 1953 in Chester to Earl and Peggy (Taylor) Brown, he married Judith Schaefer on October 5, 1974 in Green Valley.  She preceded him in death on August 12, 2001 in Pekin.  Also preceding him were his parents and one brother. Surviving are three daughters, Sara (Justin) Poynter of Peoria, Jennifer Brown of Pekin, and Amy Brown of Marquette Heights; one brother, Rick Brown of Peoria and his fiancé, Julie Ervin and her two daughters, Alex and Bre Ervin, both of Pekin. Mark had been a concrete finisher at Otto Baum, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Operative Plasterers and Concrete Masons Local 18 in Peoria. A lifelong, die-hard Chicago Bears fan, Mark enjoyed classic cars and loved working on his own antique car. There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering at a later date.  Cremation will be accorded.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
