Archie D. Shallenberger

PEKIN ~ Archie Dean Shallenberger, 53, of 2501 Tazewell Road, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2007 in Pekin.

He was born September 15, 1953 in Pekin to Joseph Noah "Joe" and Mary Louise (Smith) Shallenberger.

Surviving are his parents of Pekin; one son, Colby J. Shallenberger of Pekin; one grandson, Derick D. Shallenberger of Pekin; one sister, Dianna L. (Louie) Eertmoed of Pekin; and one brother, Joe Shallenberger, Jr. of Pekin.

His grandparents preceded him in death.

Archie was a member of Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union Local #627 in Peoria and worked for Shallenberger Excavating in Pekin for many years, retiring in 2002.

He was a life member of both the Frank N. Nicol Lodge #1170 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons in Creve Coeur and Pekin Chapter #25 of Royal Arch Masons in Pekin.  He attended Gethsemane Church in Pekin.

Archie enjoyed playing pool.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday, January 8, 2007 at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
