Steven Arthur Mott
1953 - March 26, 2018

Steven A. Mott, age 64, died in his home in Pekin, IL on Monday, March 26, 2018. His mother preceded him in death. He is survived by two children, Nick Mott and Gina “Bean” (David) Tooley; two brothers, Dave (Lisa) Mott and Thad (Teresa) Mott; his father, Ernest T. Mott; many nieces and nephews and his former spouse and dear friend, Gale Mott. He had no grandchildren because as he said it- “I’m too young for that.”

Steve was dedicated to his job as a respiratory therapist, and was respected in his field for being innovative and fearless in the pursuit of patient care. He was smart, quick witted, and cared deeply about being an example to others for excellence in the work place.

Steve cared for nothing more than his children and their interests, most of which were passed down from him. He guided his daughter, Gina in her career as a trauma nurse; and as a bonsai enthusiast, he shared horticultural musings with his son, Nick who is a golf course superintendent.

Per his wishes cremation has been accorded and no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Hospital of Illinois in Stevens name.
