Hilary Rhoda Meyer (nee Wightman), age 53, died suddenly at her home on May 18, 2008. Devoted wife to John, loving mother of Bobby, caring daughter to father Robert Wightman and stepmother B.J. Wightman, and loving sister to Dennis (Malinda) Wightman. Hilary was also loved by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother Gladys Wightman of Manchester, England. Hilary immigrated to the U.S. from England in 1967 with her family and was most proud to be a naturalized American Citizen. Hilary devoted her life to the caring of others and practiced as a registered nurse for over 30 years. The majority of her nursing career was at Seton Hospital Emergency and most recently at Austin Neuro-Rehab Hospital. Hilary's devotion to her family included deep involvement with her son Bobby's education and her shared love of nature. This was exemplified in the family's frequent camping trips to Padre Island where Hilary loved to dig her feet in the sand. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., May 22, at Angel Funeral Home.
